This is traditional Palestinian olive oil soap from Nablus, a city that has continuously produced pure olive oil soap for the past thousand years. Nablus soap is the only 100% olive oil soap still produced in the traditional way. Made from three ingredients - olive oil, water, and lye - it is cooked slowly on high heat for a week, before being hand cut, stacked, and dried for up to 8 months. Certified organic and Fair Trade. Choose from these moisturizing options:
The Olive:
From the Tbeleih family's Nablus Soap Company, making soap since 1611. Just pure, natural olive oil soap made the traditional way. 5 oz.
The Almond:
This traditional Nabulsi soap has a natural scent, achieved by changing the soap making ratio to 7% almond and 93% olive. The Tbeleh family, which has operated since the year 1611, makes The Almond soap specially for the Palestinian Soap Cooperative. Made in Nablus, Palestine. 5 oz.
The Land:
Made by the Women's Soap Cooperative of Beita, just south of Nablus. The newest of the Nablus soap brands, al-Ard are true gems. Since they work in relatively small batches and are connected with many local small producers, their olive oil is often among the very best. 5 oz.
Two Keys:
This soap is made in the historic Touqan family workshop in Nablus. Their original factory is more than 800 years old and a famous institution of Palestine, located in the center of the old city of Nablus. Known for their generously cut 5 oz. bars.
